U.S. PC Shipments Down 6% in Q4 2011, Apple Up 21%
Wow. Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good excuse.

“Note: Data includes desk-based PCs, mobile PCs, including mini-notebooks but not media tablets such as the iPad.
Source: Gartner (January 2012)”
Specifically: “but NOT media tablets such as the iPad.”
As for those of us who build our PCs. We don’t even make a small dent in an industry that sells 92,000,000 units a “bad” year. Besides, how many of those are outright new builds and not upgrades? Putting a new engine or transmission in a car doesn’t count it as a new car sale. Buying a new mobo and processor doesn’t count as a new computer sale.
