According to a legal notice published in today’s Royal Gazette, the landlord of computer and electrics shop, iStore, are petitioning to have the store wound up to collect on outstanding debts. A Supreme Court hearing on the matter is set for January 20.

According to a source familiar with the case, the matter deals with collecting back pay of rent to Pittstown Developments Limited, which owns the portion of the Washington Mall where the iStore is located.

Winding up includes the dissolution of all legal and financial affairs of the business, however its corporate existence continues for the limited purpose of paying, settling, and collecting debts.

According to lawyer Dennis Dwyer, of Wakefield Quin, who is the lead litigator on the case: “Unfortunately we are not in a position to make any comment at this stage pending the hearing.” The iStore’s landlords, Pittstown Developments, also declined to comment on the matter.

The iStore, known for selling and servicing Apple computer products, is not currently listed on Apple’s site as an authorised reseller or service provider of Apple products. The international computer giant would not comment on the delisting when this paper contacted them about the matter.

The iStore which has been in business for a number of years, is not to be confused with iClick, a new branch of The Complete Office, which opened in late 2011.

Efforts to reach Richard Todd, the owner of iStore, were unsuccessful, however, employees seemed unaware of the news when this paper contacted the store.
