iPad technology could lead to burglar: store owner
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — An owner of a Sioux Falls computer store says he has a surprise for whoever broke into his store: Police might be able to track down the culprit through the iPads that were stolen.
Guy Rensch owns Mac Pros on 41st Street. He tells KELO-TV (http://bit.ly/uXAQJ8) that someone threw a rock through his store’s window about 9 p.m. Christmas Eve, climbed in and took three display iPads worth about $1,500.
Despite the “big lump of coal” Rensch says he got from Santa, he’s hopeful that the iPads’ tracking technologies and engraved identifiers help catch the thief.
Rensch’s store wasn’t the only one burglarized Christmas Eve. Across town on East 8th Street, Green Eggs and Ram reports it was robbed about a half-hour earlier.
