BURGLARY

A day after a woman reported that someone stole her purse and laptop computer from her job in the 6300 block of Forest Hill Boulevard, she received an anonymous letter directing her to a Lake Worth resident for more information about her belongings. When an officer arrived at the residence, a woman opened the door. Her brother, who was at the house, confessed to stealing the woman’s purse, iPhone and computer. The purse and phone was found at house, but he had already traded the computer for drugs. He was arrested and charged with burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

FRAUD

A district manager discovered that a property manager was stealing money from the apartment complex in the 3700 block of Mil Lake Circle. When the property manager collected payments from tenants, she would write a different amount on the corporate’s receipt copy than on the tenants’ receipts. She stole a total of $2,789. She was arrested and charged with scheming to defraud.

SHOPLIFTING

A man entered a store in the 5700 block of 10th Avenue North and asked for two cartons of cigarettes. He used a credit card to pay for the cigarettes. When the store clerk told him his card was declined, he said to the store clerk, “I hope you don’t like these,” and grabbed the cartons, valued at $115.80, and fled.
